Welcome from our Principal

Ms Carla Scott

Welcome to Thomas Reddall High School!

I am truly honoured and feel immense pride to step into the role of Principal here at Thomas Reddall High School, starting in 2025. Leading this wonderful school, its dedicated staff, and vibrant community is a privilege I deeply cherish.

Thomas Reddall is a school for everyone. We celebrate inclusivity and are committed to supporting each student as an individual, helping them to reach their full potential through personalised planning and tailored support. Our focus on student wellbeing and engagement is at the heart of everything we do, ensuring every young person feels valued, supported, and inspired.

Our Wellbeing Hub is truly the heartbeat of Thomas Reddall High School. It provides a warm, welcoming space where students can access learning support, counselling services, our Student Support Officer, wellbeing programs, and behaviour therapy. Features like therapy dogs and a calm space offer a peaceful playground alternative, ensuring every student feels safe, supported, and cared for throughout their school day.

Academic pursuits and Inspire – High potential and gifted education (HPGE) programs are a key focus at Thomas Reddall. We encourage all students to seize opportunities, try new things, and actively explore their interests and talents. Our HPGE program supports student engagement across all domains, including academic, creative thinking, leadership, physical abilities, and social/emotional growth. Students have access to enriching activities like STEM and robotics programs, Maths Club, and comprehensive homework and study support. We are proud of our improved HSC results and the record number of Thomas Reddall students receiving early entry offers, opening pathways to university and further success.

Our commitment to Aboriginal education is a cornerstone of our school community. We are proud of our strong partnership with the National Aboriginal Sporting Academy (NASCA) program, which provides invaluable support for our Aboriginal students both in the classroom and through extracurricular opportunities. This partnership also plays a vital role in supporting smooth transitions for our students as they progress through their schooling. Every Year 7 student participates in Aboriginal cultural studies, enriching their understanding of Aboriginal history and culture. This learning experience is essential in building bridges towards reconciliation and fostering respect and appreciation throughout our school community.

The creative and performing arts are vibrant and thriving at Thomas Reddall High. Students can engage in a variety of programs including our school band, music club, and opportunities in sound and event management. We are fortunate to have dedicated art facilities that nurture creativity and provide students with the resources to develop their artistic talents. These programs offer students exciting ways to express themselves and contribute to the rich cultural life of the school.

Sport is another area where opportunity and participation shine at Thomas Reddall. Our carnivals are well-patronised events celebrated not only for competition but for the fun and connections they create among students. We firmly believe that being active and involved in sport builds strong relationships and a sense of belonging. We offer representative opportunities such as Knockout competitions, where students compete with great sportsmanship and dedication. Whether competitive or recreational, sport at Thomas Reddall brings our students together and encourages their physical, social, and emotional wellbeing.

Our staff’s outstanding commitment and dedication to our students and community are remarkable. We are fortunate to have strong and meaningful connections with local primary schools, fostering seamless transitions and building continuity in student learning. Our school is well resourced, supportive, and features an inclusive education unit with seven classes, proudly supporting students with additional needs to thrive alongside their peers.

Together, as a school community, we continue to strive for excellence, inclusivity, and care. I warmly invite you to join us on this exciting journey at Thomas Reddall High School — a place where every student matters, every voice is heard, and every opportunity is embraced.

Thank you for being part of our community.
