There are 15 million Australians on Facebook. Staying safe and psychologically well online has never been more important. How can we enjoy the benefits of Social Media without falling victim to some of the not-so-good aspects? Some studies have linked increased social media use with depression, anxiety and suicide risk, particularly among teenage girls. With young people (13 – 25 years) accounting for 25% of Facebook users, researchers and educators are working to empower young people to become MORE SOCIAL MEDIA SAVVY www.uts.edu.au
